Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a busy Car Parking & Security  Bank Team within the Directorate of Estates, Facilities & PFI.

The post holder(s) will be responsible in supporting the department for a full range of Car parking and Security duties, and also Monitoring officer duties within the Car parking & Security Department at County Hospital.

Car Parking and Security department is a 24hour, 365 day service. The successful candidate will be expected to work , as and when required to provide cover and support to our substantive service. The shift pattern for the department includes days, afternoons, nights and weekends.

 

Main duties of the job

Car Parking services are provided at the hospital 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, worked over a rolling shift pattern including weekends. A flexible approach to work, smart appearance, good communication skills and a high standard of customer care is required.

The position will involve 2 areas within the car parking team, giving the successful candidate a varied and interesting range of duties within the Car Parking Department.

As a bank car parking officer  dealing with car parking queries, cash collection, security patrols along with dealing with Security incidents as required.

As a monitoring officer. Dealing with telephone queries, giving out equipment and keys, monitoring alarms and CCTV along with the allocation of tasks to the portering team.

The successful candidates will provide cover as either one of these positions as and when required by the service.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good basic standard of education (GCSE or Equivalent)
  • Verbal & Written communication, able to read & write English
Desirable criteria
  • Basic Life Support/ 1st Aid Certificate
  • NVQ Customer Care Level II (or similar)
  • Certificate in Manual Handling
  • Certificate in Control & Restraint / Conflict Resolution
  • Fire Safety

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations
  • Dealing with complaints
  • Customer Care/ Working in a customer led environment
Desirable criteria
  • Working knowledge of Security Procedure and Policy
  • Working with Car parking operational systems & equipment.
  • Security in a healthcare setting.
